I play music for over 40 years, in a more or less free-range, but have always been crossed by a considerable flow of composition. I never could, nor I ever want to, stop this continuous stream of music that accompanies me every day, but I would like to put a bit all this material in order and introduce old and new songs, in a dignified and interesting way.

The concept is very simple: each month a track of music, photos, text, and descriptive, obviously re-played, re-arranged and re-mastered.
And if completely new ideas come, so much the better!

Now playing: ...

  • 2016 - AllChange
  •  Light through the Glass Windows 03:56

    Luce dalle Vetrate

( Light through the Glass Windows )

Look how beautiful is the light

That filters through the glass windows,

    The sun rises every day:

    It is not over yet.

It 'a cuddle to the weary.

The wait, the lights and open spaces, because the windows are like portals through which the spirit comes in different powerful dimensions, here and elsewhere.

    Never loose hope.

An improvised music, melody and chords, pondering this beautiful poem.

Solo in Lydian and pentatonic scales. The "refrain" is a modal progression, available in three different small changes (in closing).

A jazzy flavor piece, whose basic arrangement comes from a very good app for Android: "Chordbot" , that does what it promises, "Experiment with advanced chord progressions and arrangements".
Backing track then exported as a midi in Cubase, and there worked out.

Shortcut between the idea and the realization: it has taken shape in an hour or so poor "exercises of scale".

  •  Dawn Dance 03:21

    Dawn Dance

    Greetings beautiful CrisDil !!

A symbolic dance, light, such as the dances of the far east.
A crescendo as dawn, with a sudden solo when the direct light at last "break", to achieve calm in the diffuse light of the morning.

It's been a year since I put back on track this site.
It is also been six months since last published song.

    Yes, I promised you a song a month ... no I didn't succeded ..
Not because I have no ideas, but because there are so many other things to do and laziness is so much too.
Tempus Fugit, indeed, isn't it true?
However love stirs even the most stubborn laziness, and here: it begins again!
    And so Greetings beautiful CrisDil!!

This classical guitar melody is in my personal repertoire since really many years.
Taken in a lighter version, with warm musicality, almost Latin, to lighten a melody per se melancholy.
Rearranged and recorded in a bit crazy race against time in half day, to be able to present it as a gift the next morning.
Then finished calmly and published here.

  •  Loving Pulsar 04:48

    Loving Pulsar

('cause we've NEVER ended as lovers)

We walk, as individual human beings and humanity, immersed in a wonderful spacetime we understand very little, but that all around us always surprises us, and that each of us eventually abandons. And go where? And why ?
    These are the questions!

Surrounded by such considerations, I liked thinking about two pulsars wildly rotating on themselves , and also revolving around each other, in a cosmic dance of exceptional lovers: their attraction increases more and more, in a very long time, and even -for the general-relativity from their point of view in an infinite time, until they merge, until the final coalescence, say astrophysicists.
And in the meantime continue to emit waves, and also gravitational waves. Their "love" expands between them and all around them ...

What to do with music? nothing, but it's an analogy that inspired me:

because we two, like the two pulsars, we NEVER finished as lovers!
    awaits us all eternity ...

    What are Pulsars ?

This is the official artwork made by a very promising young graphic, Looijres Knight (nice job Matte), for my album "Attenzione!", soon to be published on all mainstream digital channels: we're talking about iTunes, Deezer, Spotify, Xbox Groove, YouTube, etc etc.

It was almost ready, but this image has inspired me in turn, and so then - delaying the publication - in a weekend of sober stellar and instrumental trips, I produced this new piece.

I started with a music that I play with acoustic guitar since many years, rewriting it completely in a sci-fi, contemporary space.rock version: pulsing bass synthesizer lines, soundscapes keyboards, guitars that weave a gentle but steady arpeggio, lead guitars that run through the basic theme. A modern "space" song but poignant, winking as intention to the famous piece of Jeff Beck.
And at the end of the song ... a real space sound ... a pulsar at radio-telescope.

Also will be published in the Audio section the following "Extended tracks", versions of PPINA:
    What is Real in Reality
    New Year Proposal (English Version)

  •  Purpose of the New Year (Remaster) 06:05

Purpose of the New Year (Remaster)

Discouragement leads us to say, "So, what I can do ...",
    and we remain slaves.
Freedom instead passes through the necessary interior improvement, through the narrow path, through personal change, the only way that works in everyday life.
"Be the change you want to see around you."
Silent change and helped by the silence, for us immersed in a sea of messages, mostly useless.

    And it is experiencing,
    the change,
    within oneself,
    becoming hope all around yourself.
    And in the silence,
    within oneself,
    becoming change all around yourself.

Wishes again for an holy New Year Purpose to everybody!
Nothing from Love is lost. Never.

    [Corrected and remastered.]
Sometimes it happens. Late at night, suddenly, with emotion and lucidity, this song came out whole, from scratch: music, arrangements, intention, lyrics, meaning ... Stuff I'm mulling over for the past so long, have overflowed all along. With the almost bad determination of the metal base riff, and also with the openings to hope in choruses and harmonies. Only the first stanza, as a catalyst, was written when I was young, always a bit half-monk.

  •  I Wake Up When You Leave 06:20

I Wake Up When You Leave

Sometimes I wake up at dawn just when you, my beloved, go to work.
I hear hello, the door closes, and half asleep I realize that you're long gone.
    Yes now, you have gone!
This song sings just that moment: that feeling of absence, emptiness, and nervous.
But the new day begins, you have to run, children school work: it starts again.

The chord progression, which is a simple C progression, and most of the lyrics, was recorded on cell phone mumbled drowsily.
Of course then I sang it again ... yes yes I know. But if Bob Dylan and Vasco dared to sing, so can I ...
The music should be simple but a bit dramatic, emphasizing the loneliness : on the contrary it came out very pimp, with piano bar atmosphere. Sax (cool VST) and soft keyboards abettors, the arpeggiated guitar has little hypnotic effect, but it sounds rather romantic. After that, however, it's up to the distorted guitar to express frustration and disappointment.

  •  November Garden 04:37

    November Garden

November 2011. For this track only two things were very clear from the beginning: the main keyboards arpeggio and the name.
"His name shall be November Garden".
Since then to complete these harmonic gardens I ventured into dense fog, mystery and delicate details, unexpected turns and great views.
    Ready to explore them?

In October the new site was released, and for November was scheduled a sung song ... But I postponed because I HAD to come out in November with November Garden. Decidedly progressive rock track, it captivated me from note to note with a particular arpeggio, and it developed into slowly unveiling harmonic places .... A preparation done by multiple layers of stubborn and solemn keyboards in C minor; then beating guitars and drums to create the turning point in G major, with the broad cantabile pace towards the end tail.

  •  Normandy Roads (Wedding Trip) 03:25 Greetings Crisdil

    Normandy Roads (Wedding Trip)

    Greetings, beautiful CrisDil!
This track is about the beauty of the beginning of feeling, that from hidden and delicate takes shape, develops, pampers and surprises. And suddenly life runs ahead, as the roads lead to new places: complicity and understanding.

I wrote it a couple of years ago, looking at pictures of our honeymoon on the road, in Normandy back in 1995. It has been recorded now to present it to my wonderful wife, a really dutiful action since this piece was conceived and written absolutely for her.

  •  Autumn Is Coming 02:54 Greetings, Crisdil

    Autumn Is Coming

Two for the price of one. Greetings, beautiful CrisDil!
From a technical exercise, to suggestions of autumn woods, summer slowly ending and the first snow which obliges all sentient beings, chorally, to prepare a shelter.
Everything changes. Running to go into lethargy.

I recorded it on September 7, resuming work with Cubase.
This piece was indeed a pretext to deepen the use of the popular music production software, with a basic and static harmonic idea, the classic climb A- G F E7, a simple structure to concentrate on other aspects.
Then things happen and this song, offended to be considered only testing material, has evolved into something almost decent and finished.

  •  PULL IT UP demo 03:17

    Pull It Up demo

A little obsessive but steady and relentless. The big effort is always at the beginning, then you can get more harmony and freedom.
For a bit angry mood wanting to start again!

As the title says, it is currently still a demo. A work in progress. IN FIERI (latin: continuously developing) idea. Pull it up, Take it on, but also Stop, Do it afresh, GetAnHigherLevel, It was born on the wave of improvisation through a riff, used as an opening for a live.
Created years ago, it always returns reworked in every composition wave.
Clear hard rock track, it has in the central part more complex harmonies using keyboards and various soloists digressions.
The current structure has taken shape in a fun jam session with my favorite "socio musicorum" bass player.
The base is a midi, the bad-tempered guitar an antidepressant to restart again.

  • 2009 - Easy One
  •  Ancient Memories 02:03 (sonata for string quartet)

    Ancient Memories

    [Instrumental, Classical]
Sonata for String Quartet and Harpsichord in A minor.

I thought of some childhood memories : the grandparents who were talking about when they were young, and then I went back in time even further, and then even further. Here and NOT now.

The relationship between people also extends in time other than in space?
Basically we should have realized that our physical reality is four-dimensional.

Composed as a practical exercise of classical armonic theory, I was - and am - studying,
it has some valuable traits, those written by instinct, which says a lot ....
It has even a "hint of fugue" as I was pointed out by a friend, great violinist from Random String Quartet .
Melody remains at a subdued tone basically, slightly melancholic and sad, but not too much drama.
    Registration is a midi VST.

  • 2006 - Dedicated to You (excerpt)
  •  Oceans of Light 03:25

    Oceans of Light

I have composed, played, finished, mixed and made public a small part of the music I wrote, trying to create an album of the same quality I'd like to hear.

Posted on the Internet in 2006, "Dedicated to You", is as a musical genre, if you must label, a kinda floydian energetic progressive-rock.

"Oceans of Light" in particular is psychedelic and dreamy, totally without rhythmic and a single chord, just like the stratosphere and what it stands for: bright, uniform, great, but always different, for a thousand details.
Also this track contains a secret ....

All processing stages, from concept to recording to mixing, were done at home, headphones at night, stealing time from sleep. A big job ...
Nearly the overall quality of the pieces however does not exceed the demo level : I was interested primarily in conveying a strong ideal message and simultaneously verifying the real possibility of home-recording, mindful of labours of live and studio recordings in the 90s.
Perhaps the only exception to an higher quality is just that song, "Oceans of Light" which in fact has been used, by Creative Commons License and to my great pride, as part of the soundtrack of short movie Diari di Viaggio ( Journey Notes ) , now published in the video section.

And since the other 15 tracks on the album DedicatedToYou are musically still very valid, They will certainly be taken up and replicated in the coming months, in 2.0 version.

I Fly Free - Io Volo Libero (live)

    - The long journey of man in his freedom's sky -

    Così, io volo libero,
questo è il mio cielo, creato per me.
    Qui, vivo l'immensità,
e un abbraccio di venti lontani.

    So, I fly free,
this is my sky, created for me.
    Here I live the immensity,
and an embrace of winds away.
